At Monroe College we know that not all learning takes place in the classroom, we have a program called Prior Learning Assessment or PLA, where we can evaluate all of our adult learners for their work experience, life experience and professional training to see if that can translate into college credit. The most common way students can earn credit through military training, professional certification, licenses or standardized exams. At Monroe, we take a holistic approach to Prior Learning Assessment. All of our adult learners are paired with a mentor for the entire process. Your mentor will work with you to evaluate all of your possible work and life experiences to see if that could potentially translate into college credit. The biggest advantage to Prior Learning Assessment is that it will save you time, and money on your journey to earning your college degree.
